2020 Chair Board of Trustees, The Appraisal Foundation

From 2013 – 2021 Leila Dunbar served on the National Appraisal Foundation Board Of Trustees, in 2020 as Chair.

In 1987 The Appraisal Foundation (TAF), an independent non-profit organization, was authorized by Congress with the mandate as the source of Appraisal Standards, Qualifications and Practices for real estate, business valuation and personal property appraisers. Its mission statement is to promote professionalism to ensure public trust in the valuation profession, accomplished through the setting of standards, qualifications and guidance regarding valuation methods and techniques.

The Board Of Trustees works with full-time staff to oversee the TAF and nominate appraisers to serve on its Standards, Qualifications and Practices boards. The Standards Board reviews the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice, with an updated manual of rules, standards and advisory opinions issued every two years.
